A Lacrosse Life: Jamie Munro and Phi-Lacrosse-Ophy

Written by Coach Miller

Hey there,

If you’ve read my stuff, then you’ll know that I’m a big fan of podcasts.

I got a bunch of different categories depending on my mood…

I’m a big fan of Tim Ferriss, Joe Rogan, and Bill Burr

I have my favorites for lifting and internet marketing…

And I have some dedicated to lacrosse.

Jamie Munro started his Phi-Lacrosse-ophy podcast 8 months ago…

He’s been around the game a LONG time, and was the head coach of Brown and Denver.

Lacrosse is a tight knit community, and Munro has a STACKED lacrosse network.

I’m gonna start recaping more of his episodes, but for starters I want to talk about his recent interview with Scott Marr.

Marr is the head coach of Albany.

They were in the Final 4 last year…

I actually haven’t even listened to the whole episode yet, BUT it’s pure gold.

Dick Edell was the head coach at Maryland

They called him the Big Man… he was 6’5” and just a big guy…

Marr was an assistant under Edell, and they played in three national championship games.

Edell was a players coach….

He really cared about his players.

… and he treated everyone the same…

Whether it was the janitor, the ticket guy, the last assistant on the football team, or Gary Williams… He respected everyone.

And he always listened… providing constructive feedback when appropriate.

He purposely was VERY engaged in his conversations.

He always exemplified a positive attitude, but he also preached toughness.

It’s great to be reminded of this stuff because it helps create strong programs.

If you don’t have Munro’s podcast on your list, then you gotta change that.

I promise you won’t be disappointed if you love lacrosse.

Lots of Division 1 scrimmages this past weekend.

It’s exciting to be back in the mix.

We start our Gonzaga season on February 20th…

Our guys have been playing, running and lifting A LOT.

More articles coming this week.

I got one on jumping that’s gonna be awesome.

Talk soon,

Coach Miller
